PC16 LNER 20 Ton Plate 1940 Wagon Kit Electrical-Pickup Roughly one in five waggonsThe LNER introduced these plate wagons in 1940. The all welded body is of especial interest. During the war, the LMS built vehicles for its own use to this design. This wagon was a development of a 1937 prototype and itself became the basis of the BR standard wagon. Primarily used to carry steel plates, other conmmon loads were farm machinery, motor cars and large packing cases.
