BJ129 Polished "Black Jade" . Orbicular Granite This specimen is from eastBJ129 Polished "Black Jade" A trade name for metamorphosed magnesian tholeiite (basalt). A rough rock, cut and polished on one side with a cut base to stand as a display specimen ! Geologically interesting with a cross cutting quartz vein ! Difficult to photograph due to the mirror black polish.. Dimensions at widest points approximately 215 mm x 110 mm x 65 mm thick. It weighs 3,066 grams.
