When moving through the Earths atmosphere, a meteorite builds up heat that is then released into the terrestrial rocks with which it collides, causing the rocks to melt and combine with the remains of the meteorite, forming Tektite. It is composed of silicon dioxide, aluminum oxide and other metal oxides.
