Constructed of bronzed magnetic metal, the obverse consisting of a shield bearing a map of Crimea and southern Ukraine, topped by a Wehrmacht eagle clutching a wreathed mobile swastika, flanked by dates 1941 1942, affixed with all four reverse attachment prongs to a magnetic metal backplate with an intact reverse paper backer and field grey wool liner indicating Heer issue, unmarked, the shield measuring 53. 50 mm (w) x 61. 18 mm
