Germany, Wehrmacht. A Rare Dunkirk Shield Republic of daughter of Major David Secord(Dnkirchenschild). Constructed of a stamped and gilded metal alloy, the obverse bearing a central raised lighthouse situated against the Channel Coast, above a chain and below an inscription of DUENKIRCHEN 1944, perforated with three eyelets for sew on attachment to an accompanying field grey wool underlay, unmarked, measuring 34 mm (w) x 42 mm (h), a scarce example in extremely fine condition.
