Constructed of patinated and silvered feinzink, the obverse consisting of a circular chain wreath, with a central blockade runner cutting through waves, with the bow overlaid by a German national eagle clutching a mobile swastika, the reverse with a barrel hinge and banjo style pinback meeting a flat wire catch, maker marked SCHWERIN, BERLIN and designer marked OTTO PLACZEK, BERLIN, measuring 47. 90 mm in diameter,
