Its name is taken from the Greek word rhyax, meaning a stream of lava. It is chemically identical to Granite, although sometimes mistaken for Jasper. The stone's mossy greens, browns and grays are reminiscent of a rainforest. Metaphysically, Rhyolite is said to light the fire of creativity within the soul and help with self realization.
