C.), the obverse bears the relief profile of William T. Sampson, surrounded by US NAVAL CAMPAIGN WEST INDIES 1898, flanked by the words WILLIAM T. SAMPSON on the left, COMMANDER IN CHIEF on the right, reverse shows an engraving of a Navy officer, Sailor, and Marine standing on a plaque engraved with the text SANTIAGO DE CUBA JULY 3, on a striped ribbon in red and blue, extremely fine condition.
