Saxe-Altenburg, Duchy. A Bravery Medal, C.1918 Hold reverse illustrating a Littorio Volunteers(Tapferkeitsmedaille). Instituted 20 February 1915 by Duke Ernst II. (1918 1919 issue). Constructed of zink, on loop for suspension from its period original ribbon, the obverse with a raised Cross Patte bearing a central Saxon coat of arms, flanked by a date of 1914, the reverse with a central monogram of Duke Ernst II, unmarked, measuring 31. 03 mm in diameter, weighing 12. 6 grams (inclusive of ribbon), in extremely fine condition.
