A round silver gilt medal; the obverse depicting a leftward facing bust of Wilhelm Ernst, circumscribed by his name and title; the reverse depicting a Merit Cross, circumscribed FIDELITER ET CONSTANTER (Latin Faithfully and Consistently); on a loop for suspension from a correct replacement ribbon; measuring 38. 46 mm in diameter; weighing 25. 5 grams; in overall extremely fine condition.
