Jincup Urushi Large Rings This is one in seriesThis hand carved mug is made with Fuki urushi lacquer, also called suri urushi, a traditional and durable finishing technique where raw, liquid lacquer (tree sap), is rubbed into the wood grain with a cotton cloth and then wiped off, repeating the process multiple times to enhance the natural wood texture while providing a protective (usually satin finish) coating.
