Constructed of silver; the obverse depicting a German national eagle clutching a wreathed mobile swastika in its talons superimposed on a cross; the reverse inscribed Medaille fr Deutsche Volkspflege (Medal for German Social Welfare); on a loop for suspension from a correct replacement ribbon, measuring 38. 15 mm in diameter, weighing 23. 9 grams, in overall near very
