Costa Rica. A ½ Escudo Coin, 1848 GTRexclude the twelve o’clock arm bearing(Currency, Coins). Antique. A circular coin constructed of gold. The obverse features the image of a radiant sun with a lion passant in the center, above a row of three volcanoes. The image is encompassed by a border bearing the inscription REPUBDEL CENTDE AMER 1848. The reverse bears the image of a lion passant within a circular inscribed border. Below is the denomination E., encompassed by a border with the inscription LIBRE CREZCA FECUNDO CR. J. R.
