Constructed of silver with multi coloured enamels, on loop for suspension from its period original ribbon, consisting of a Cross Patte, the obverse with red enameled arms, with a central red enamelled medallion bearing a silvered Hamburg coat of arms, the reverse with a central inscription of FR VERDIENSTE IM KRIEGE 1914 (FOR MERIT IN WAR 1914), unmarked, measuring 40. 24 mm (w) x 43. 97 mm (h), weighing 18. 2 grams in near extremely
