Blanket Trunk, Cream Lacquer Table Lamp This particular model in light

This particular model in light elm is based on the Kang cabinets which were used to hold all sorts of general items or valuables often stored in hard to reach or 'secret' sections inside

The main difference in our version is the addition of a wooden hanging rail on the inside - something unfamiliar to Ming and Qing Dynasty Chinese who would always fold their clothes for storage inside cabinets and chests

this simple two door cabinet has a single removable shelf inside and the same simple ring handles as the rest of the range

the central carving here depicts bamboo a symbol of uprightness and is made from camphor

The paintings show various flowers in soft orange
