Pratts Plan of Bath Road, 1930 by A.E. Taylor - London, Berkshire, Wiltshire, Gloucestershire, Somerset - Old Vintage Car Map - Esso, Standard Oil cambridge and a wonderfully large geologicalThis rather fascinating pictorial map of the road from London to Bath was created by A. E. Taylor and published in 1930 by Pratts Oil which was known as Standard Oil in the US and in a few months would be known as Esso in the UK. Taylor was commissioned to create a series of maps of the United Kingdom and Ireland to encourage people to drive around the country in their new fangled motor carriages (aka cars) which, of course, would consume Esso oil!
