It is the ShiShi (Foo Dog) from the Taisho Era (c. 1912 1926). It measures approximately 13" tall by 12" long and 9" deep. It weighs 6lbs 12oz. The Shishi, or lion dog, is a mythical creature prominent in Japanese folklore and traditional art, revered as a powerful protector against evil spirits. Derived from similar figures in Chinese mythology, where they are known as "Shi" or guardian lions,
