Antique Japanese Misedansu Display Tansu Sugi Wood Meiji c1890's 70"W Inkstone Weight = 4This is an antique Japanese Misedansu or shop chest in two sections. Made in the late 1800's or mid Meiji era. Used by Kyoto area merchants during the booming years at the end of the 19th century. There are two display areas above and one below with four drawers on the bottom. Made throughout of Sugi wood (Japanese cedar). All four drawers run smoothly and have forged iron handles with burnt lacquer finish. Original glass panes in the bottom and
