Portrait of a Young Girl Gold Silver & Bronze Spear had a long and

Spear had a long and presumably happy marriage to Mary who he remained with all his life

but he captures a moment in a life

This young lady needs a good home

it is handled with Spurriers usual sensitivity and deft draughtsmanship

it took me some time to work it out but she’s loosening her hair from behind and it has fallen over her face

Portrait of a Young Girl Gold Silver & Bronze Spear had a long andIt is a wonder to me that the artist of this highly accomplished little portrait cannot be found listed anywhere. It does happen occasionally but short of the painter using a pseudonym to dodge a gallery contract as often happened or a joker adding their name for some spurious reason, Im at a loss.
