By repeatedly firing at high temperatures, the iron contained in the clay and glaze seeps out onto the surface, creating a beautiful gradation of iron patterns and glassy textures. Repeated high temperature firings give the work great strength and it is microwave safe. It is also a comfortable weight when held in the hand. Please kindly note that each piece is handmade by
